Holiday Toy & food Registration
Registration for the 38th Annual Holiday Toy and Food Giveaway will end this Friday, November 22, 2019 with extended hours from 1-7 Wednesday and Friday at the United Way, 278 Spruce Street. Participants will need to bring social security cards for every person in the household to receive food and for every child that will receive toys.
Christian Help (CH) and the United Way are excited for some new changes to the time-honored community event that has helped countless families over the years. We are thankful that we can continue to serve Monongalia County and provide an experience that families may not otherwise have. It is because of our community support that we can do this. Without the partnerships of Christian Help, United Way, Toys for Tots, the Humane Society, and Mountaineer Food Bank, along with many other local individuals, organizations, schools and businesses none of this would be possible.
We aspire to assure that every registered child experiences the joy and excitement of Christmas. As we approach the event, United Way and the BOE are working together to collect food. Christian Help, Toys for Tots and local businesses are working to collect toys. To best do this, all data must be collected before the event. Therefore, we will not be offering late registration the day of the event.
For families who have registered but are unable to make it to the event, Thursday, December 12, 2019, Christian Help will accommodate and offer toys at CH the week following the event. For those who are not registered, toys that remain after the end of all registered shopping will be put into the free store and available as supplies last to anyone who visits the store.
Santa needs lots of helpers to ensure that the event goes smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering the week of December 9 – 12 please go to www.volunteermpc.org and register today!
