Emergency Financial Assistance

The Emergency Financial Assistance (EFA) program exists to provide assistance to those clients who have true financial need. These needs may include help with utility termination, rent eviction, prescription medications, or costs incurred by beginning job training or work.

The EFA program at CHI is truly remarkable, in that it is the ONLY agency in Monongalia County that also assists clients with first month’s rent, security deposits, home or auto repair, transportation, gasoline, medical equipment, and costs incurred by obtaining personal items such as photo identification or birth certificates necessary to begin job training or work.

In addition to providing financial support, the EFA program also serves as a community resource directory, helping clients find the right agency and make the right contacts to ensure they are getting the assistance they need–even if we cannot provide that assistance ourselves.
